Fremont, CA: Sigilon Inc., a biotech company working for functional cures for patients with chronic diseases through its Shielded Living Therapeutics platform, announced the closure of $80.3 million Series B round of financing. Founding investor Flagship Pioneering participated in the round of financing along with other existing investors, including Eli Lilly and Company. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments), Longevity Vision Fund, and BlackRock joined as new investors. Post the Series B funding, Siligon's total funding rose to $195 million.
Sigilon will use the funding to support the first-in-human clinical trial of its novel encapsulated cell therapy for hemophilia A, which is expected to commence in the first half of 2020. Sigilon will also continue the advancement and expansion of its programs in rare blood disorders, Iysosomal disease, and immune and endocrine disorders.
