Advanta Seeds will incorporate Seed-X GeNeeTM technology into its seed processing line to improve seed germinability and quality.
Fremont, CA: Technology continues to influence agriculture, just as it has on many other aspects of the economy. Farmers are increasingly responding to the challenge and finding innovative methods to employ broadband and other types of technology to their advantage. For example, a farmer may now utilize various applications to keep track of his crops daily. In addition, drones are less expensive and can deliver items when and where required.
Seed-X, an innovative AI-driven Agtech business, and Advanta Seeds, a UPL group firm, are collaborating to apply novel seed processing technologies.

The alliance between the global seed corporation and the Israeli Agtech startup intends to disrupt traditional seed processing and create a new benchmark in seed lot quality.
Seed-proprietary X's GeNeeTM technology combines proprietary computer vision and artificial intelligence algorithms to enable non-destructive seed-by-seed classification that uses comprehensive seed image data to forecast unaddressed quality attributes like germination and physical, and genetic purity. In addition, seed-X software is included in the GeNeeTM Sorter, the first sorting machine powered by Seed-GeNeeTM X's technology to simplify seed segmentation.
Advanta Seeds pushes innovation and establishes new standards for seed quality by incorporating the GeNeeTM Sorter into its processing line. The adoption of the latest generation sorter increases Advanta's production capabilities while also allowing the company to give clients highly germinating and robust seeds generated in a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner.
Traditional separation processes result in 10% -15% of seed batches getting judged useless. On the other hand, Seed-X enables exceptional seed classification precision on individual seeds and sorting by non-conventional use-cases, promoting seed waste reduction and increasing useable seed amounts, thanks to its superior computer vision and deep learning technology.
"After analyzing over 300 different seed lots from more than 40 seed companies, I believe our solution is a perfect fit for Advanta Seeds," says Sarel Ashkenazi, CEO, and Founder of Seed-X Technologies. "As one of the leading global seed company, Advanta Seeds will gain a further competitive edge by deploying Seed-X's GeNee™ Sorter to upgrade its seed lots, while also saving on storage and operational expenses, and executing more efficient seed production planning. We are proud to be signing this partnership with Advanta Seeds and look forward to extending our cooperation in the future."
