Fremont, CA: RunSafe Security, a critical infrastructure cybersecurity company, announced the closing of Series A funding round amounting to $6.3million. Alsop Louie Partners led the round of funding, with additional inputs from new investors like Renegade Ventures, Working Lab Capital, and Inner Loop Capital. With this funding, the total amount raised to date reached $8.7million. RunSafe plans to use the funds to expand marketing and sales efforts, as well as accelerate and broaden product development.

Joe Saunders, the founder, and CEO of RunSafe Security, provides Alkemist, which hardens software binaries using Moving Target Defense (MTD) and Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) methods to decrease risk by precluding exploits from being dispersed across multiple devices and networks. Alkemist is born out of a research project from the Advanced Research Projects

Agency of the Department of Defense. Alkemist has the ability to protect open-source, third-party binaries, or in-house developed code while leaving each system logically unique, but functionally identical.

"As 80% of security decisions in DevOps software teams are made by software developers, and 75% of kill chains involve a step using memory corruption vulnerability, RunSafe allows a massive reduction in attack surface with ease of deployment. This boost in cyber immunity fundamentally disrupts hacker economics and allows reallocation of scarce cybersecurity resources overwhelmed with patching and related basic cyber hygiene efforts," said Joe Saunders, RunSafe Security's founder, and CEO. "We founded RunSafe Security to disrupt hacker economics at the root cause in order to render cyber threats inert - and we are delighted with the widespread adoption of Alkemist across DevSecOps toolchains. My team and I are extremely gratified by the continued financial support of our initial investors in RunSafe Security and are thankful to our new investors for their support of our vision."
