FREMONT, CA: RubiconMD, a NYC-based leader in eConsult platform providing access to specialist expertise, closed $18 million in Series C round of financing. The round was led by Deerfield Management Company, with significant participation from existing investors, including Optum Ventures, Waterline Ventures, HLM Venture Partners, and Heritage Provider Network. The company has raised over $40 million to date. The company expects to use the newly raised capital to accelerate its ongoing growth. As part of the financing round, Julian Harris, M.D., Partner at Deerfield is expected to join the company's Board of Directors soon.

CEO Gil Addo and President Carlos Reines, being motivated by their own experiences within the healthcare system, founded RubiconMD in 2013 to bridge the gap between primary and specialty care. Today, the platform allows quick access to specialist insights across over 120 specialties. The company has collaborated with the top payors in the country to scale its offerings.
