FREMONT, CA: Micro-mobility management tool firm, Ride Report, raised USD 10 million in Series A funding round led by Unusual Ventures. The Portland-based company allows cities around the world to manage their bike and scooter share programs. The newly raised capital will enable the company to deepen its commitment to helping cities provide environmentally efficient transportation options in their communities.
"As micro-mobility expands throughout the Denver region, we want to be sure there is a consistent way for us and partner agencies to calculate key metrics, evaluate performance, and understand how micro-mobility supports public goals," said Emily Lindsey, a transportation technology strategist with the Denver Regional Council of Governments. "We hope that working with Ride Report will help us and partners plan for, and adapt to, the changing mobility landscape."

The micro-mobility industry has reached a critical juncture in its lifespan. Ride Report, in 2020, has already monitored over 100,000 unique vehicles. The company's product is currently used in over 60 cities, and Ride Report has also built relationships with many major micro-mobility operators. Ride Report believes it is time to revitalize the streets and build a path to delivering new modes of transportation or fall back on the car culture status quo. Until now, the company has been successful in building trust with public agencies and public operators.
"We're entering an era of cooperation that's going to open up the entire micro-mobility sector," says Andy Johns, a partner at Unusual Ventures. "That gets to the core of what Ride Report is about and their belief in the future of mobility - that operators and cities will increasingly work together to help the industry grow." The financing round will allow Ride Report to continue pursuing its mission of growing the company by working closely with its partners, both cities and operators, and make micro-mobility work.
Ride Report, led by CEO William Henderson, has become well established in different regions like Austin, Portland, and Wellington, New Zealand. The company accesses real-time data, which helps them ensure compliance, achieve policy goals, and make informed decisions about how they manage micro-mobility. Operators like Bird and Lime also use Ride Report's technology to see what the city views, which gives an understanding of how local regulations are applied, helps them identify data issues, and addresses potential compliance mishaps.
