The startup has been growing quickly, gaining traction in segments such as wellness, beauty, health and education. The software, which was developed in just two months following a freemium Software as a Service (SaaS) model combined with embedded financial services, has a version without a monthly fee for those who are just getting started, and is launching a paid version available for businesses that are looking for more robust workflows as they scale.
Since its beta launch in February 2022, Quaddro's users have sold and managed more than 20,000 services, transacting about R$ 1.6 million.
"In Latin America, there are 23 million microbusinesses in the services and knowledge sectors still with low digitization or low access to high quality tools. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, there has been an explosive growth in the number of new entrepreneurs and a permanent transformation in the way they use digital tools on a daily basis. Given this scenario, Quaddro was born with the mission of helping these professionals gain access to best-in-class software that allows them to focus entirely on their passions and their customers", explains Bruno Novarini, co-founder and CEO of Quaddro.
According to Novarini, it is estimated that professionals save up to one hour per day by leveraging Quaddro. It also helps them reduce revenue loss due to any absences or pending payments from customers. "Not to mention that the use of the platform reflects directly on the relationship of our users with their clients, who report a considerable improvement in customer experience and retention," explains the executive.
In addition to Bruno, three founding partners make up the startup team: Darlan Junior (CTO), Tiago Colin (CPO), and Fran Melo (COO). The four founders have a background in technology: Bruno (MBA at Harvard) was part of the product team at Nubank and McKinsey; Fran and Tiago have founded companies focused on small businesses and Darlan has over 10 years of experience as a software engineer.
This experience was fundamental to the creation of a simple platform, with a different approach for entrepreneurs and small businesses. They make a rare team of 4 technical founders, which brings to market a high-quality product with a product-led approach.
The funds from the round will be used to boost investment in the team and the product offering
The main objectives of the founders in this second round of investment are: hiring more staff, mainly in the areas of technology and product; expanding software functionalities; and improving its financial services suite.
"The rise of freelancers and self-employed content creators is a powerful trend for the Latin American economy, which should intensify over the next few years. At the same time, these professionals or solopreneurs are still lacking tools and software that enable them to do their work in a more scalable and effective way. Quaddro has been developing a complete platform that simplifies operational and financial management by helping these entrepreneurs efficiently scale their businesses," explains Phillip Trauer of Valor Capital Group.
The startup had already raised R$2 million in a pre-Seed round with angels and VC funds including, Flavio Litterio, a VP at KOVI, Victor Santos, banQi's founder, NXTP Ventures and Grão, which are also investing in the company's seed round.
“As we invest at an early stage, one of the main pillars of our decision process is the co-founding team. When we invested in Quaddro in 2021, we conducted due diligence and qualified it as the best possible team to address this market in LATAM. Since then, Quaddro has exceeded our expectations and we are happy with the result and its growth potential. We had no doubt that we wanted to continue to back them in this new round”, explains Sung Lim, Grão's CIO and CFO.
