FREMONT, CA: Technology, without any doubt, is changing the way we live. Almost every sector has felt the need for technology and has been adopting it for its incredible uses, and the education sector is no exception to it. The way of disseminating education has undergone a monumental shift than how it was a decade ago. Digitization has disrupted almost everything, including the way of learning.

It has become extremely important for the 21st century schools to bring technology to the classrooms. Parents still have the misconception that overuse of technology will make the child technology addict, but the fact is that they are born in the digital world and use of technology lets them think differently. The way of receiving and processing of information is way quicker than ever before, all credit to technology.

The next-gen schools of 21st century must start adapting newer methods of teaching and imparting education with the available technology. Adapting technology doesn't mean that teachers will go obsolete. Teachers will continue playing the vital role they've been playing since decades in the classroom. Technology, in fact, is only meant to act as an assistant or a tool to teachers to disseminate education more efficiently

and effectively. With digitization coming in, teachers are using more engaging and multisensory approaches to the topics like storytelling videos and apps. This has wiped off the traditional method of rote learning that needed a student to memorize the alphabet in their early years. Talking particularly about the benefits, classroom digitization allows more personalized learning and differentiation. At the entry-level, online-based reading and literacy programs were carried out, which allow teachers to give assignments to students based on their individual ability or reading and writing. In this, children are expected to create a recording of reading a book aloud, which in turn helps the teacher to access the proficiency, fluency, and pronunciation of each child individually. This helps a child to learn at his own pace while fostering their imagination with the freedom to choose the story to read.

The information collected through this method helps teachers to differentiate students from the diverse group with diverse learning needs, in the same classroom, same course, and the same learning environment, and train according to the individual needs of the students. This ensures that in a classroom every student gets the equal opportunity of learning irrespective of their capacities and abilities to learn.

Education may not run with one size fits all model, as the conventional education methods have their own benefits. Digitization is only helpful to the extent if it is used as the key in assisting the teachers in the classroom. Digital classrooms and e-learning allow for customization adapted to each student's need, interest, capability, and understanding. This keeps a student more engaged as they progress. Every transformation takes place in the classroom, and moving towards digitization is the first step of it.
