FREMONT, CA: Alternative-VC firm Lighter Capital has agreed to sell up to USD 100 million worth in credit assets to a private investment vehicle managed by HCG Fund Management. The proceeds from the deal will be used to fund several early-stage companies in SaaS, tech services, and digital media with its non-dilutive forms of financing, including Revenue-Based Financing, Term Loans, and Lines of Credit. Lighter Capital also announced the appointment of Joe Silver as its Chief Financial Officer. Silver had served as the company's Vice President of Finance since 2015 and was instrumental in securing the deal with HCG Fund Management.

Under the new portfolio, Silver will continue to focus on furthering the company's growth through fundraising and capital market strategies, which will be built upon the company's finance and analytics functions, and increasing market opportunities through new product development and geographic expansion. "Lighter Capital has been impactful in the growth story of hundreds of companies over the last four years, and we continue to see increasing demand for our products," said Silver. "It's an exciting time in the company's history, and I look forward to continuing our growth and supporting the financing needs of early-stage tech companies."
The company has invested over USD 200 million in more than 350 startups spread over 650 rounds of funding since 2012.
