Brad Kavin established Lieef in February 2020. Prior to this, Kavin spent nearly a decade at BlackRock and Cowen Investment Management, where he helped launch two sustainable investment platforms that expanded to over $30 billion in assets under management during his tenure. In the United States, Canada, Japan, and Mexico, the founder has led or been active in 19 sustainable private equity investments totaling $1.5 billion in fund capital deployments.
Among the founder's notable achievements is the creation of the first electric vehicle charging station power purchase agreement in collaboration with a California utility, leading the first non-recourse wind project debt financing in the United States as sponsor and creditor beyond the project's technological useful life, and co-creating BlackRock's proprietary merchant power price forecast. Kavin was nominated for promotion to Managing Director at Cowen Investment Management at the age of 30 prior to founding Lieef.
