"From our early days as a leading flash games portal to today as a first-party game developer, Kongregate's mission has always been to bring fun and unique experiences to players, which is why we see enormous potential in blockchain gaming," says Markus Lipp, CEO of Kongregate.
The collaboration with Immutable X will ensure that Kongregate's players have the best possible NFT experience. The L2 protocol was developed in partnership with Immutable and StarkWare's cutting-edge zk-roll-up technology, allowing all Kongregate games published on L2 to benefit from its massive scalability of 9,000 TPS, gas-free trading, and minting, and carbon neutrality. Furthermore, the protocol will not jeopardize Kongregate players' access to Ethereum's unrivaled security and active community.
"Kongregate is a well-known name in the gaming industry. They were at the cutting edge of web-based gaming, and now they'll be at the cutting edge of web3 "Robbie Ferguson, Co-Founder of Immutable, agrees. "The ability to embrace community, iterate quickly, and focus on what matters to players has been critical to Kongregate's success. I am very excited to see what the future of user-generated content and a player-first approach to NFT gaming will look like under Markus' leadership."
