Eat Well
Eating well is not only important for the body, but it is also important for the minds. Certain mineral deficiencies, such as iron and vitamin B12 deficiencies, may give us a low mood. Try eating a balanced diet. If you find yourself a particularly stressed or anxious person, you should try to limit or cut caffeine as this may make you feel jittery and anxious.
Get A Lot of Sunlight
Sunlight is a very good source of vitamin D. Vitamin D is a very important vitamin for our bodies and our brains. It helps our brains release chemicals that improve our moods, such as endorphins and serotonin. Try to get out of the sun when you can, but make sure you keep your skin and eyes safe. It's ideal for 30 minutes to two hours a day of sunlight. Some people get depressed during the winter because they don't get enough sunlight-this is known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Some people find that utilizing a special light-therapy lamp helps to relieve symptoms.
Manage Stress
Stress is sometimes unavoidable, but knowing what causes stress and knowing how to cope is key to maintaining good mental health. Try to manage the responsibilities and concerns by making a list or schedule of when one can resolve each issue. Often when you break down your worries and stress and write them down, you realize they're manageable. If one finds that they are having trouble sleeping or are waking up to think about all the things that are stressing them, write them down and also make sure to with them in the morning.
