eLeapPower received 21 million dollars in Series A investment. The financing got headed by a pension fund consortium and BDC Capital's Cleantech Practice. The inaugural deal for eLeapPower is with a worldwide car manufacturer located in China, who will utilize eLeapPower's smart inverter technology to power its best-selling line of completely electric commercial fleet vehicles.
The eLeapPower suite of powertrain technologies greatly decreases charging time for electric vehicles. It enables bidirectional charging and charging directly from renewable energy sources such as wind and solar.
The unique technology of eLeapPower works with all manufacturers, vehicle kinds, motors, and batteries, removing the need for onboard chargers and cutting production costs. The company's portfolio of technologies includes wireless charging, which allows charging fields to get aligned without requiring the car or charging plates to be manually re-aligned.
With this funding, eLeapPower established an engineering facility in Shenzhen, China, to better serve its early clients. In addition, the financing will allow eLeapPower's award-winning technology to get deployed in a larger range of commercial and passenger electric cars.
