Businesses in the hospitality industry require a straightforward method to lower staff turnover, motivate new hires, and support their staff members during these difficult times. Jonatan Rasmussen, CEO, and Kristian Lundager, CTO, created a fintech firm in Copenhagen in 2020, intending to make it All Gravy by providing an operating system for hourly workers in the hospitality and retail industries.
According to CEO Jonatan Rasmussen, the All Gravy people operating system functions like a tool for optimising the workforce. The HR or operations team can make strategic decisions rather than merely respond to emergencies because it offers a mix of qualitative and quantitative knowledge.
The average yearly staff turnover rate for the restaurant business is 75 per cent, which has increased since the pandemic. This costs the sector hundreds of millions of pounds in terms of hiring and selection, education and training, lost productivity, and departure fees.
An integrated financial wellness app for iOS and Android is part of All Gravy's people operating system, which helps boost employee engagement, adaptability, and retention. It provides free assistance to hourly workers in helping them understand their pay, organise their savings, and even gets paid right away when the shift ends. This encourages people to continue working for their employer and take on extra shifts. All Gravy gives the tools to give the top hospitality and retail enterprises an advantage in establishing the finest work environment. The hospitality chains now want to do the same thing, similar to how the tech industry has seen companies like Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), and others set the standard for luring and keeping talent.
The toolkit also includes a shifting marketplace to give employees more options and assist managers in filling open shifts across several sites.
Employers in the sector typically lack the resources to comprehend employee engagement, attrition rate, and sentiment. They are unaware of the timing or causes of resignations. One issue that All Gravy analytics addresses is this.
Over 150 restaurants have joined up with the company, and it has agreements with some of the biggest restaurant brands in Denmark, including McDonald's (NYSE: MCD). Businesses that use All Gravy report a difference, with 20 per cent more shifts worked per employee, 15 per cent higher retention rates, and a greater capacity to recruit talent to immediate access to money earned.
