Fremont, CA: Clearcover, the smart auto insurance company, announced that it has raised $50 million in Series C funding. The funding took place almost after a year when the company raised $43 million in Series B, back in January 2019. Till now, Clearcover has raised a total of $104 million since its inception in 2016. The funding was led by OMERS Ventures, and previous investors American Family Ventures, IA Capital Group, and Cox Enterprises, were among the other investors. As a result of this, the managing partner at OMERS Ventures, Michael Yang, will join Clearcover's board.
Clearcover plans to use the recently raised fund to make its service technology-powered, cost-efficient, and provide better customer experience. Moreover, the new capital will help Clearcover to accelerate growth by continuing its expansion in accessible markets and launch its services in new states throughout the U.S., and also integrate additional distribution channels in the financial and automotive services space. The management will also increase its workforce to almost double the count as of now across engineering, product, and data science with local and remote options.
