These microbes are acquired and grown in an artificial environment where they do not need to be replenished from any outside source.

Brands and manufacturers are therefore formulating biotech ingredients, including companyich and Robertet fragrance makers. For example, microalgae oils from Solazyme are used by Natura Cosmetics in Brazil.
