AvidXchange will use the newly raised capital to boost its growth and development; invest in its solution for both buyers and suppliers while reaching out to more customers in the middle market
Fremont, CA: AvidXchange, an invoicing provider and accounts payable (AP) company based in Charlotte has raised $260 million in equity capital as part of it's latest finance round.
The total funding was more than $800 million over the company's 20-year history that was brought by the contributions from TPG Sixth Street Partners and other leading investors. The company will use the newly raised capital to boost its growth and development, invest in its solution for both buyers and suppliers while reaching out to more customers in the middle market.

The business was founded in 2000 and process 9.5 million payments annually across its networks of more than 500,000 suppliers. It is one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the US and recognized as a fintech unicorn.
"More than 60 percent of US businesses still pay bills with paper checks, accounting for more than $2.7 trillion in administrative costs annually," said Michael Praeger, CEO, and Co-Founder of AvidXchange. The company took several steps to drive its growth and push the business forward. BankTEL Systems was acquired in July 2019 by the company, which added nearly 2,000 bank customers to its financial services vertical, and in October, the business launched AvidPay and AvidInvoice for long term healthcare and social services. Avidxchange hired 175 new teammates, expanding its total number of employees to more than 1,400 across seven offices. Plans for a headquarters expansion are also underway, which will accommodate an additional 1,200 teammates and increase its footprints.
