Medical communication startup Medici announced that it has raised $22.4 million from executives coming from Citadel, Dell, Publix, and Starwood Capital, and other unnamed investors. The Austin, Texas-based startup is aimed towards allowing asynchronous textual content messaging between care providers and patients.
Sometimes referred to as the “WhatsApp of Healthcare,” Medici has developed a disruptive mHealth technology that allows doctors to care for patients easily and securely right from their mobile phones.

The HIPAA-compliant Medici platform lets in patients to have digital consults with their personal medical doctors, therapists or even veterinarians. Such telemedicine visits eliminate the need for as much as 80% of in-office visits that take place these days and could substantially reduce the need for non-emergent E.R. visits – ultimately saving time and money for patients and doctors. In its first year since release, Medici has been downloaded with the aid of over 2,500 clinical providers.
Medici, founded in 2016, is targeted on constructing technology that streamlines the patient care experience and is handy for doctors to apply. The mobile app permits doctors to cope with healthcare desires that can be higher treated truly as an alternative to time-ingesting and costly in-workplace appointments.
