Fremont, CA: Arima Genomics, an organization focused on the provision of research tools to simplify and accelerate the understanding of genome sequence and structure towards their part in human health and disease, closed its Series A round of financing recently. Agilent technologies and Cowin Venture led this round, along with Vectr Ventures and Berkeley Catalyst Fund.
"Agilent invests in industry partners to advance the development of new technologies that will accelerate the pace of scientific discoveries," said Tad Weems, Managing Director of Agilent's Early Stage Partnership Program. "Arima has the potential to unlock novel genomic applications by leading the community's transition from focusing on sequence alone toward sequence and structure."

The[vendor_logo_first] proceeds from the Series A funding round will go toward broadening Arima's commercial efforts. It will enhance the rate of development of new features to the company's present Arima HiC platform. This will also include additional structural analysis capabilities to the conventional chromatin immunoprecipitation via HiChIP and the design of new products that include smooth coverage HiC for applications in gap-less de novo assemblies and population sequencing.
The funding will be utilized to support scaling of Arima's operations and boosting its customer service and support experience.
