Stockholm-based Acamp has just raised €2.5 million for its travel tech platform dedicated to camping enthusiasts. The funding was led by Spintop Ventures, with participation from LRF Ventures as well as existing investor Centripetal Capital
FREMONT, CA: Paul Berggren and Öjje Holt created Acamp in 2020 with the goal of creating a marketplace that makes it simple for campers to identify and book wonderful places to camp. The aim was to create a platform where private hosts and business owners could post unutilized property and curated experiences for campers to book, based on their grievances with regular campsites. Campers can find, book, and pay all on one platform with Acamp. It also allows landowners to make use of the abandoned property by renting it out to the burgeoning camping market, allowing them to supplement their income. Hosts can also make more money by marketing other items and experiences to campers directly.
The travel sector is rebounding in general, and camping is a crucial market trend to keep an eye on this year. Sustainable, nature-based, low-impact, and ecologically friendly vacations are in high demand throughout Europe. People are seeking vacations that do not include flying long distances and spending a lot of money. Camping trips are more popular than ever, and thanks to Acamps' platform, a network of hosts can continue to develop to meet demand and personalize the experience.

Founders remark the fact that the growing popularity and interest in sustainable tourism, devoted to connecting people with unique locations to stay in nature is creating a lot of excitement. The tourism tech firm is gearing up for an exciting year ahead, having moved to a Nordic enterprise with growth into Norway and Denmark as part of its ambition to become Northern Europe's largest camping marketplace. The new money would be utilised to expand operations and accelerate growth. The Clean Camping campaign, which was established in close collaboration with Hll Sverige Rent and its sister organisations in Denmark and Norway, will be expanded in the next phase.
