Fynn's affordable, fair student loans make technical and trade school degrees accessible to students of all backgrounds
FREMONT, CA: "We believe everyone should have access to quality education and the tools to help them get there, regardless of socioeconomic status. Fynn members go on to pursue careers in high-demand fields like the industrial, construction, and manufacturing trades, along with allied health and medical technology," said Eric Menees, CEO and co-founder at Fynn. "By providing robust and affordable financial aid, millions of students can enter the trades and start achieving the American dream. This is why it's so important for us to underwrite students based on their potential, not just their past."
An $11 million seed round and a $25 million financing facility have been closed, according to Fynn, a fintech lender that offers private school loans to America's talented workforce. Y Combinator, Susa Ventures, Village Global, Tenacity Venture Capital, and Watchfire Ventures are a few of the lead investors. The seed money will spread Fynn's services throughout the country and aid individuals who want to pursue higher education.

Fynn is offering students secure, fair, and reasonable loans to attend accredited trade schools that put them on a path toward stable professions and a middle-class lifestyle as the US continues to endure its worst labor shortage since World War II. Millions of students attempt to pursue jobs in skilled labor each year but are prevented from doing so due to financial constraints. Federal financial aid is frequently severely restricted or nonexistent in vocational schools. By giving students the means to go to school, receive the training they require, and work in the labor market, Fynn is bridging the gap.
Unlike most conventional private student lenders, Fynn cares about the student's long-term success and offers member advantages to assist new graduates in reducing stress and maintaining payment schedules as they begin their professions. Income protection, payment pauses, and loan forgiveness are the three main built-in perks that Fynn offers that are particular to their loan. These advantages are meant to make it easier for students to handle unforeseen financial difficulties and comfortably repay their debts.
"Having access to trade school programs shouldn't be this complex, especially at a time when skilled workers are needed more than ever. There is still time to solve America's labor-supply issues, which is good news," said Leo Polovets, general partner at Susa Ventures. "Our investment enables Fynn's continued growth as a leader in skills-based education financing and allows them to continue helping low-income students achieve middle-class status through quality education."
Currently, 150 different programs around the United States get loans from Fynn, which benefits students attending prestigious vocational schools like Heartland Welding Academy and The Medical Institute of Kentucky. Fynn can consider the future potential in loan decisions by collaborating with institutions that have exemplary graduation and job placement rates, giving credit-invisible students a fair chance. Fynn has given needy students approximately $4 million in financial aid since introducing its flagship product in July 2022.
