1. How did the company's idea evolve, and if the founders' particular background helped them see the customer's pain point.
Finding the pain points in the VR industry was not difficult at all. For example, imagine a situation where you can't see a baseball while watching a baseball game on VR. This is the same level of experience that renders the low-definition quality of content as watching Netflix or YouTube.
The most important question here is whether this pain point in VR should be considered as same as the customer's Pain Point. In fact, more we meet potential customers in various fields such as tourism/sports/entertainment/education to promote our VR solution, we found out that there are not only problems we realize but also many pain points that hinder the growth of the VR industry. Such pain points include the hassle of wearing a VR headset, poor resolution, feeling dizziness, and boring content, and there are many qualifications that VR needs to meet in order to become a new media star. In summary, VR is not yet sophisticated and mature enough to solve the customer's pain points. Fortunately, many of these are being improved by big companies such as Meta and Apple, and the still difficult part is that all these points have to rise to a certain level at the same time. When that happens, ALPHACIRCLE aims to be the most well-known company, at least in the field of '360VR video solutions'
2. Some information about your unique solution or services. ( https://alphacircle.co.kr/technology/?lang=en )
ALPHAView, a VR video solution developed by ALPHACIRCLE, has unique technology worldwide. Not many companies are approaching the same way as we do ( Image segmentation & Synchronization of Segmented Image ) to improve the image quality of VR. Regarding these strengths, CEO - Dennis Shin said, "It may sound easy, but it is very difficult to synchronize the VR images perfectly," adding, "We identify about two companies in Silicon Valley, one in Europe, and one in Japan as competitors. However, ALPHAView has an overwhelming advantage in overall quality and time-sync performance."
3. The evolution story of the company with the management and interesting incidents.
Before meeting with Tony (Mega-genius freak engineer), there were three founding members: CEO, COO, and VR film director. Three of us came up with various hypotheses and theories to solve the image quality problem of VR and continued experiments on various topics to verify them for quite a long time. There is also a memory of having a custom VR camera installed with several DSLR cameras on a tray called 'Rig' and going out to a very large commercial intersection like Times Square in Seoul at dawn to take a test shot. After about six months of trial, we approached Tony and asked him to be the CTO of ALPHACIRCLE and showed him what we had done so far in the document. We called it the "video engine development plan 1.0." What's really shocking was that Tony made "plan 2.0" so quickly and developed much more sophisticated and solid plans. We laughed on the spot because we felt so dumbfounded, but thanks to this, we were able to push forward to establish ALPHACIRCLE without any doubts.
4. Advice to budding entrepreneurs (based on their experience).
I want to stress that choosing the right people is the most important part when establishing your own business. In particular, since a small number of start-up members decide the business goals and roadmap of the company, it is better if teamwork is formed that can complement each other's shortcomings. It is not good to have only leader-type members, not to have advisors-type members, and to have many working-type members. If there is a problem with this balance, even with the best business idea, it will be a disaster. Therefore, if you are thinking about starting a business, first, it is said that selecting business items is the most important, but please think deeply about whether there are members around you who will build good teamwork. Just because you're close to your intimates doesn't solve all of this again. If you are not close to each other but have a favorite candidate, I think you will have a stable start if you collaborate with them for at least a few months and verify a little more about the initial stage together.
