THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
Evan Buist, Founder and Managing DirectorMelodie’s founder and managing director, Evan Buist, a composer himself, saw an opportunity to improve the library music business by providing an exclusive catalog of consistently high-quality music, paired with simplified licensing and a powerful search interface. Since launching in 2017, Melodie has had more than one million minutes of music broadcast on Australian television alone, featured in programs like Ninja Warrior, Love It or List It, Real Housewives, and The Amazing Race.
Melodie is a subscription-based music licensing platform providing unlimited access to high-quality music from an international roster of award-winning composers. While Melodie helps content creators to easily license music for television, film, podcasts, videos, gaming and everything in between, it also creates new revenue streams for composers and artists— supporting a thriving creative community.
“We work with an incredibly talented, diverse roster of artists. Supporting our creative community means splitting all revenue streams and not earning a cent until our artists do: it’s the only equitable model,” says Buist.
For every track uncovered in a search, Melodie provides alternate mixes and elements of each song known as ‘stems.’ These gives editors flexibility and options to adapt the music when editing content.
A testament to Melodie’s capabilities is Breakout Clips a fast-growing video marketing platform that partnered with Melodie to embed music tracks into their videos. By plugging into Melodie’s API, Breakout Clips allowed its users to access and integrate more than 20,000 curated, high-quality tracks without ever leaving the Breakout Clips platform.
By making it easier for content creators to source consistently great music with no legal headaches, Melodie Music has carved a niche for itself in the entertainment industry. With more impressive developments on the way, there is no doubt that Melodie has an electrifying future ahead.
