Digitalizing the operational workflows of a health system—especially those of large medical centers— in the most cost-effective and efficient manner has always been one of the industry’s biggest challenges. Particularly concerning information and communication technology (ICT), Healthcare IT (HIT) professionals across the globe face difficulties in effectuating seamless digitalization transformations and cloud migrations for medical organizations. The networking infrastructure of the average healthcare ecosystem is densely interwoven and complex; oftentimes, administrative processes are still conducted manually. Consequently, navigating through such gigantic nets and integrating new ICT systems to improve communication between patients, doctors, and other stakeholders is easier said than done. The professionals at Lemon Healthcare, on the other hand, have risen to the occasion, delivering a comprehensive suite of practical, affordable ICT solutions for each participant of the healthcare continuum.

Founded in 2017 by a small group of database and IT experts from Oracle and Intel, Lemon Healthcare was established to become the go-to healthcare lifecycle companion. It currently brings to market three cloud-based, highly optimized, customizable service platforms called LemonCare, LemonCare Plus, and LemonCare 365.

Before elaborating on LemonCare, it is essential to understand a certain facet of patient-hospital interactions in the Asiatic and European regions. “After falling sick, an individual does not immediately visit a large, Class-A hospital. They first visit their personal physicians and then a medium-sized hospital, if needed,” expresses Tony CK Lim, co-founder and COO of Lemon Healthcare. Unfortunately, making appointments for consultations in medium-sized and big health systems is not always convenient. It involves transferring sensitive information such as personal patient data, tracking medical insurance documents, and managing prescriptions from one healthcare institution to the next. However, executing the same safely and efficiently is a painstaking process.

LemonCare eliminates all such hurdles for Class-A hospitals. The company intuitively designed the product to simplify a patient’s healthcare journey, helping them make appointments easily with queue ticketing features, utilize mobile payment methods, and manage electronic prescriptions for faster billing at pharmacies. Lemon Healthcare also communicates with insurance companies to ensure a smooth exchange of prescription information and the patient’s EMR (Electrical Medical Records) details as a standard EDI (Eletrical Data Inexchange) format.

The LemonCare Plus platform, a B2B application, maximizes ICT productivity for healthcare systems. LemonCare Plus supports doctors, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff to access patient data directly from their smartphones. The interface is easy to navigate, enhances a medical professional’s ability to improve patient management, and redefines collaboration between staff members and departments.

Lemon Healthcare, after five years of continuous trial and error, also developed its LemonCare 365 platform. This product focuses on small and medium-sized healthcare facilities and clinics. The company’s LemonCare 365 SAAS (Software As A Service) B2C platform helps optimize key organizational workflows for its clients, which include improving insurance claims processing and reservation inquiry functions. Moreover, Lim and his team go the extra mile to ensure the security of each patient’s information. They are well-prepared to acquire international regulation certifications— FHIR, HL7, HIPAA, and the FDA, to name a few—and were recently granted access to the International Security Management Society (ISMS).

With such promising HIT, cloud, and ICT innovations, Lemon Healthcare is set to transform how hospitals, big and small, carry out their patient management operations. Moving forward, the company intends to disrupt the dynamic Korean marketplace with its technology and actively participate in the budding field of telemedicine. The company firmly believes that digital healthcare has a bright future and has subsequently decided to offer its cryptocurrency to users with an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) that was launched in April. With given LEMC coin (Aka, Lemon Chain) through every single transaction, patients can use the currency in the Lemon Ecosystem to buy IoT devices, custom-designed supplementary food, and carry out payments as well.
