FREMONT, CA: Cloud computing and virtualization solutions company, Citrix, announces that it is all set to acquire Grasshopper Group LLC. Citrix has said that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the innovate startup that provides specialized virtual phone system systems for other startups and small businesses.

Citrix has a range of communication and collaboration solutions in the form of ShareFile and others. With the acquisition of Grasshopper Group LLC, the company is looking forward to explore new frontiers in smart communication technologies.

“Our team shares the same vision and culture as Citrix, making Citrix the perfect home as we accelerate Grasshopper’s growth. This transaction will allow Grasshopper to align itself with a well-respected leader in collaboration solutions for small businesses,” says Don Schiavone, Chief Operating Officer, Grasshoppe.

Virtual Phone Systems are a cost effective way of realizing a phone service by using cell phone or landline. Startups and small businesses through this system can set up a professional phone system in less than a day. Striking feature of this unique phone service is that it does not require a company to enter into a multi-year agreement; charging will be based on the number of minutes use.

Grasshopper Group through its Virtual Phone Systems offers call forwarding, call scheduling, and caller menus. The call forwarding feature enables businesses to be mobile; a virtual 800 number gives grandeur feel to even a small business.
