Cisco EIR Expands its Incubation Program with Startups for IoT Solutions

FREMONT, CA: Cisco announces an incubation program, for cohort of startups to join Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence (EIR). The program’s goal is to foster the relationship between the startups and Cisco to developIoE solutions. This collaboration is geared towards the building IoE, Big Data analytics and smart city solutions.

The selected entrepreneurs receive support from and introductions to business groups within Cisco, access to co-working space, and mentoring from industry experts as well as the program events provide opportunities to present products and ideas to investors and partners.

Companies such as Measurence, ParStream, PLAT.One and Preferred Networks have joined the Cisco EIR. Measurence provides mobile analytics and intelligence platform for retailers and other businesses. ParStream offers large IoT solutions using massively parallel processing technologies.

PLAT.ONE offers end-to-end IoT and machine-to-machine application platform and Preferred Networks, adds intelligence to the Internet of Everything by applying machine learning and Big Data technologies to devices and networks.

In addition, two more startups are joining the Cisco EIR as a part of joint-incubation program launched with regional partners. Embedor Technologies, a startup spun out of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Research Park, which develops wireless smart sensor technologies for structural health monitoring of civil infrastructure and Koriist integrates legacy and smart digital infrastructure allowing faster and smoother development of Smart City solutions.
