| | December - 20186EDITOR'S DESKWhether identifying consumer behavior and preferences or market trends and patterns, data analytics is proving to be pivotal force for organizations. Companies are utilizing comprehensive data sets to make better and informed decisions for their business. Many enterprises are employing advanced analytics to organize large and varied data sets. Looking at the current customer demands, global big data analytics market is anticipated to grow by leaps and bounds in the upcoming years. One of the factors that positively impact such a market is the rapid increase in organizational data. Analyzing large data sets manually would be a tedious task, hence enterprises choose data analytics. Although organizations are taking steps to turn data into insights, some companies are still struggling with data quality and the problem to find the right resources to turn these insights into true value and become more data-driven. Most of the organizations are investing in data analytics to keep up with known or unknown developments and competition. The known data analytics development cycle is described as descriptive, diagnostic, discovery, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. In general, enterprises currently find themselves in the diagnostic and discovery stages. In other words, data analytics initially supported the decision-making process, but is now enabling better decisions than one can make on their own. New capabilities required to handle the availability and storage of data are emerging with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google, and Microsoft Azure. Furthermore, new ways to analyze data with machine learning (ML) and cognitive analytics will give rise to new professions. Organizations will not need to invest in data analytics platforms, because with cloud all capabilities can easily be scaled to the organizational needs. This can include analytical building blocks such as data lakes, ML tools, and Hadoop, in addition to the availability of complete analytical visualization applications or apps for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. As the workplace is becoming more tech-driven and fast-paced, data analytics is going to play an increasingly important role in business while the data analysts will continue to dig out new tools.Write us your thoughts!
