Zone Startup launches 'Gateway91' to Support International Innovators & Startups

Bengaluru: Zone Startup, an international startup accelerator, launches Gateway91, a soft landing program to empower international startups. This initiative will help innovators and growth stage companies from across the world to thrive in the Indian market and establish a strong presence.

Gateway91 is the fourth program launched by Zone Startups this year. Earlier this year, this startup accelerator had initiated programs like empoWer, Rise Accelerator with Barclays and Thought Factory Accelerator with Axis Bank.
As part of the latest program, Gateway91 will offer end-to-end services for international companies looking to set up their offices in India and support companies to build a workspace within a community of likeminded entrepreneurs, connecting them to local industry expert and mentors, maintaining corporate connections for customer development and sharing networking opportunities with potential investors.

“Setting up Gatway91 was a natural extension to what we have been doing at Zone Startups India. The ecosystem of mentors, potential partners and professional service providers needed by international startups to succeed in India is something that we have already built. In fact, over the last year, we have supported 16 companies from different areas, helping them with introductions to several potential partners and clients. To a great extent, this also aligns with Government of India's Invest in India and Make in India vision as these international technology companies will create knowledge economy job opportunities”, says Ajay Ramasubramaniam, Director, Zone Startups India.

Launched its first program in 2014, Zone Startups is located at Bombay Stock Exchange tower, Mumbai. It is the collaboration between BSE Institute (a subsidiary of the Bombay Stock Exchange), Ryerson University’s Digital Media Zone (incubator), Ryerson Futures Inc. and Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. Zone Startups India offers State of the art work space, Mentorship – Functional, Business Experts & Industry Panel, Market Development & Business Development Support, Networking & Branding opportunities, Funding Opportunity, Access to North American market and Peer-to-Peer mentoring. Currently this startup accelerator accommodates over 55 desks and houses 60 startups.
