Bangalore: A mobile marketplace for beauty and wellness, Vyomo raises an undisclosed amount of funding from Aprameya Radhakrishna – Co-founder, TaxiForSure. As a part of deal Aprameya will join the company board. The Funding round was also participated by few investors from Singapore and GCC countries. The fund will be utilized to advance its service, customer experience and enlarge its team. In April, cricketer Yuvraj Singh had also invested an undisclosed amount in Vyomo.
Incorporated in 2014 by London Business School alumni Abhinav Khare and Poonam Marwah, Vyomo is a mobile app platform designed to find and book beauty services within India and GCC. Focused to connect its user with the stylist’s salon chains, the firm allows its customer to hunt salons and spas, compare prices, read customer reviews and also book services based on their current location through the app.
Following the model of taxi aggregators like TaxiForSure, Uber, Ola, the firm has already brought 1,500 salons and spas on board within the first four weeks of operations. Expanding its reach, the firm plans to enroll about 5,000 spas and salons in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Dubai and aims to bring more than one million stylists on its platform by 2017.
