To Enhance Facetune & Enlight's Features, Lightricks Grabs $10 Million Funding

Bengaluru: The world’s leading image editing software development firm, Lightricks, raises $10 million in a funding round led by Israeli VC firm, Carmel Ventures. This is Lightrick’s first fundraising since its inception in January 2013. The company plans to utilize the fresh capital to enhance the features on Facetune & Enlight and also for further R&D in the image editing sector.

“Lightricks was built on the premise that our mobile devices are about much more than passively viewing content, and that these devices offer a unique opportunity to foster and empower creativity. Our goal is to bring the most advanced technologies from computer vision, computer graphics and image processing and channel these innovations into products that enhance the experience of our users in ways that have never been seen before,” says Zeev Farbman, CEO & Co-Founder of Lightricks. “Carmel presented us with a unique opportunity to partner with a firm that has a shared vision and a proven ability to help companies grow into global market leaders. This funding enables us to expand our operations and continue surpassing expectations of what can be achieved on mobile devices,” he added.

“We are constantly looking to partner with companies that have the ability to truly revolutionize a given sector, and Lightricks has the potential to reimagine people’s creativity on mobile. What Lightricks has achieved to date is remarkable, and what struck us was the teams’ vision and will to build a world class company. Lightricks possesses a rare combination of proprietary core technology alongside a proven track record of creating products people want and are happy to pay for,” says Daniel Cohen, General Partner at Carmel Ventures.

Headquartered in Jerusalem, Lightricks was the contrivance of Amit Goldstein, Nir Pochter, Zeev Farbman, Yaron Inger and Itai Tsiddon. It took the image editing apps platform by storm through its revolutionary Android and iOS-based mobile editing apps – Funtune and Enlight. Facetune enables the users to smoothen their skin tone, remove red & white eyes, fill bald patches, reshape facial structures, brighten teeth and remove any acne or pimples. Enlight is a general photo editing app with essential features like cropping, rotating, resizing and many more.
