Bengaluru: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), organized its flagship event ‘SmashUp’ with an aim to connect and to learn the art of building successful ventures from eminent mentors and inspire successful entrepreneurs on 8th August at Taj Deccan, Banjarahills, Hyderabad. The keynote was delivered by Sri Myneni, Founder & CEO, Knoah Solutions Inc. The event also witnessed couple of panel discussions by eminent experts along with 300 people representing various stakeholders of the ecosystem, including startups, entrepreneurs and many more.
An event for the early stage startups to get the opportunity to connect with the investors, including angels and VCs, ‘SmashUp’ endeavored to bring various startup-centric issues to the fore through discussions and multiple sessions. The first session titled ‘Are you defining your product right?’ was directed by D V Shesha Rao, Managing Director, Insideview Techlogies (India) Pvt. Ltd. The specialists of this session included, Sri Myneni, Founder & CEO, Knoah Solution Inc.; Rama Krishna Raju, Founder & CEO, Pennant Technologies and Rahul Tamada, Co-Founder, Tamada Media Pvt. Ltd.
As per the report, another session on ‘Going international: Should you? When and How?’ was moderated by Seshasai K, Site Head, IBM, Hyderabad. The panelists included Raghu Bathina, StartUp Advisor; Ritesh Reddy, CEO, O2 Spa and Amit Prasad, Founder, MD & CEO, SatNav Technologies.
On the other hand, the underline of the event was the ‘Startup Heroes’ – an early stage startup seed funding session where 10 startups were having a working prototype pitched to angel investors. These new companies were given ‘five minutes’ to pitch to individual financial specialists for a subsidizing of Rs.15 lack for tech & non-tech new startups against 10 percent equity. Towards the end of every presentation, the financial specialists discussed their enthusiasm for giving principle approval on funding the business idea of the startup.
