Bangalore: Tel Aviv based Windward raises $10.8 million in its series B round of funding. The funding round was led by Hong-Kong based business person Li Ka-shing’s Horizons ventures along with existing investor Aleph.
This considerable raise will bring the total company’s raise to $15.8 million and accelerates the company’s ability to build their platform in history. The company plans to utilize its fresh round of funding to upgrade its product MARINT, which tracks vessel traffic using commercial satellites and alerts law enforcement and intelligence agencies about illegal fishing, smuggling and to bring FORESEA, a financial platform targeted hedge fund investors and analysts.
Incorporated in 2009 by Ami Daniel, Windward is a maritime data and analytics company, which brings out the criminal activities happening at sea. It built world’s first maritime data platform, the Windward Mind, to analyze and sort out the world’s maritime data. The Windward’s intelligence solution, MARINT is currently used by worldwide Security, Intelligence and Law Enforcement agencies, who employ Windward’s data and insights to identify threats before they reach their shores.
