Bangalore: Promoted by Jasper InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., India’s largest e-Commerce site, Snapdeal.com, acquires SaaS based e-Commerce warehousing solutions provider - Unicommerce - for an undisclosed amount. As a part of acquisition, Unicommerce would be merged with Jasper in order to upgrade its warehousing and fulfillment capabilities.
The company had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Nexus in 2013 and recently raised $10 Million from Tiger Global and Nexus Venture Partners. It lately picked up 20 percent of strategic stake from GoJavas, the former logistics arm of fashion e-Commerce firm, Jabong investing Rs.120 Crore.
Founded in 2012 by three IIT qualified professionals - Ankit Pruthi, Karun Singla and Vibhu Garg, Unicommerce hunts to capitalize on the blooming e-Commerce industry. The company offers SaaS based solutions in order to manage inventory, delivery and other aspects of e-Commerce. The company offers complete order fulfillment lifecycle by providing updates and automating everything from order placement by a customer. In fact, the company flagship product, Uniware was used by Snapdeal, DonebyNone, OfficeYes, Jabong, Myntra and Lazada.
On the other hand, Snapdeal is implanting Rs.25 Crore separately into its logistics unit. With Vulcan Express Pvt. Ltd managing Snapdeal’s transit warehouses, the company has charted out an investment plan of $150 to $200 Million into expanding and enhancing its supply chain capabilities.
