Bangalore: Promoted by Jasper InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., India’s largest e-Commerce site, Snapdeal.com, acquires Hyderabad based mobile technology startup MartMobi for an undisclosed amount. Through this acquisition, Snapdeal aims to strengthen its mobility platform for merchant partners.
Incorporated in 2013 by a duo of industry professionals – Pramod Nair and Satya Krishna Ganni, MartMobi is a leading mobile e-Commerce platform that creates mobile sites and apps for e-Commerce stores and small & medium sized businesses. As an innovative mobile technology company, MartMobi propels brands, retailers to set out instantaneous mobile and tablet across all existing mobile platforms. The firm enables seamless connectivity with their existing back end systems with over 150 clients.
Talking about the acquisition, Rohit Bansal, Co-Founder & COO, Snapdeal says, “We are focusing on mobile platform as about 75 percent of orders are coming from mobile based devices. On the merchant side too, we are witnessing similar trends. The MartMobi team is a great addition as it will help strengthen the platform for sellers”.
On the other hand, the gigantic online marketplace, Snapdeal is in quest to clock $8 billion in its Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) this year. The company had already acquired online platforms such as FreeCharge, Unicommerce, Exclusively.com, RupeePower, Wishpicker.com, Doozton, Grabbon and many more.
