Snapchat: More Fun with Snaps

This is one of the startups that had been on the fastest rise in the last year. The company had recently risen a funding of $13.5 million with its investor being Benchmark Capital.

The startup has recently built a Beta from its own android. Users can now easily get pictures or videos that are self destructive sent. The application mainly lets users to get short videos of ten seconds shared. The video can be timed for like ten seconds after it has been opened by the user, after which it will disappear. On opening the video, a user will be provided a time limit of just one second to get the video recorder, which only makes it highly unlikely and impossible.

While the android users can receive and use these videos, they can be recorded only by iOS users. All that a user has to do is place his finger on the circle that says record.  Placing your finger off the circle will stop the video. Also, users will have to be friends before such snaps are being sent.

The number of snaps that have been sent with the use of this application has in fact reached over a billion. These consist of some lighthearted and funny stuff. “We’ve always built this product for ourselves and for our friends to have a silly way to communicate,” CEO Evan Spiegel says, as reported by Techcrunch.com.

“Making Snapchat video for Android has been exciting, but has also had its fair share of challenges. The Android phones that many of us use were never designed with Snapchat in mind, and that can be tough when developing a hardware-based application. The video feeds and playback behavior can differ greatly – often with no guarantees or warnings. Some users will still experience difficulties, and we want to work with you to make Snapchat perfect (email us!), but we hope many of you simply come to love video snaps.” As said by the company in a recent blog post and reported by Techcrucnh.com.
