Bengaluru: Shopsity, the Gurgaon based fashion products information provider, raises an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Sandeep Aggarwal, Ex-CEO of ShopClues, and Teruhide Sato, founder of Netprice. The company will utilize the funds towards its business expansion, increasing its workforce and enhancing its technological capabilities.
Founded in 2015 by Danish Ahmed, Shopsity app enables the users to identify and purchase fashion products available at nearby stores. The company has listed thousands of stores from Delhi/NCR, enabling the customers to see the products of Woodland, Redtape, W, Mufti, Nike, Levis and other stores.
Indian fashion retail which is claimed to be a $60 billion industry still works on the conventional way of ‘touch and feel’. People still prefer going to the stores to shop and find their fit. However, when they still don’t find what they are looking for at the first place after spending hours, it is disappointing. Shopsity aspires to change this.
Thus, it also allows users to choose the designs they like, check out the latest offers, verify size availability, make a shopping list and then go out to experience the product. The process saves time and helps the users to reduce the burden of visiting the store to store in search of the product they are looking for.
