Bangalore: NxtGen Datacentre and Cloud Technologies, the Bengaluru-headquartered IT infrastructure services company, raises $13.5 million in Series B funding from IFC, Axon Partners Group and Intel Capital. The company will utilize the funds for their business expansion and to open a high density data centre facility in Bengaluru. It also plans to increase its investment in cloud infrastructure. Earlier, the company had raised $9 million from Intel Capital in August 2013.
Founded in 2012 by A.S Rajgopal, NxtGen delivers central IT platform-as-a-service to organizations providing full fledged data centre and enterprise cloud services from its own high density data centre facilities and deploying centrally managed on-premise data centers at customer locations. The company’s data centers support the growing need for data consumption, incur capital savings for businesses and boost direct and indirect job creation.
Currently, it has two data centers in India: Mumbai and Bengaluru with offices in four major metros — Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi. The company has 105 employees and over 200 channel partners taking services to market.
Axon Partners Group, which specializes in growth capital investments in the digital technology sector, has invested in India in companies like iYogi and Captronics Systems through its India Opportunities Fund. NxtGen is Axon's second investment in the cloud technology sector, having invested in O4IT, a leading cloud technology service company in Latin America.
