Bengaluru: Gadgets 360°, owned and operated by the media group NDTV, raises an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Paytm, valuing the company at around $50 million. The other investors like Inflexionpoint (Cofounded by John Scully, former Apple CEO), Pramod Bhasin (Founder, Genpact), Sixth Sense Ventures (Founded by Nikhil Vora), Vindi Banga (Former Chairman, Unilever) and Hiro Mashita (Founder & Director, M&S Partners) also contributed to the round. Prior to this, the company had raised an undisclosed amount in a round led by a group of investors at a combined valuation close to $80 million.
Gadgets 360°, currently touted as NDTV Gadgets, provides a marketplace for exclusive launches of mobile phones and other electronic gadgets, while it also has food and movie verticals. This e-Commerce arm of NDTV claims to receive over 20 million unique visitors every month, which has pushed the platform to embrace the glory of being India’s ‘largest technology website’ (as per Google Analytics). Kawaljit Singh Bedi is the Managing Director of Gadgets 360°, while former Seventymm CEO Bhawna Agarwal has been appointed as the CEO. Agarwal has previously worked with Yatra.com, and is on the advisory boards of OYO Rooms and VentureFund among others.
