MagicTiger Acquires its Competitor Startup GoDeliver

Bengaluru: MagicTiger, a Bengaluru-based on-demand delivery service MagicTiger has acquired GoDeliver, a venture that enables the users to order anything just by sending a SMS. As a part of this deal, the two co-founders of GoDeliver, Gaurav Bhaghel and Piyush Mishra will be joining MagicTiger to lead the technology department.
MagicTiger is the brainchild of Arun Kumar and Pratyush Prasanna, the co-founders of Portea Medical, and Srinivas Anumolu, a serial entrepreneur. It was incubated by K Ganesha and his wife Meena Ganesh through their incubator GrowthStory. It is a messaging on demand solutions provider which allows the users to buy or ask anything for which the company will provide the best possible solution.
Currently, the company has a workforce of 40 employees who also include a small logistics team that work through a separate company. It also has collaborations with Roadrunnr and JoMaange for its product delivery. Through this acquisition, MagicTiger marks the beginning of its consolidation in a vast market that is witnessing a number of start-ups being born in the last few months.

Founded in January this year by Gaurav Singh, Piyush Mishra and Tarun Gujjula, GoDeliver enables the users to order anything by either sending a SMS or through Facebook chat and get the desired items delivered at their doorstep according to their convenience. The service is offered at a very reasonable price wherein the customer is charged with the actual cost of the item along with the delivery costs. The delivery costs vary according to the difficulty levels of the ways the item is sourced and delivered.
