Indonesian Otten Coffee Raises Series A Funding from East Ventures

Bangalore: Indonesian-based, Otten Coffee, an online store concentrated in coffee and coffee related products raises an undisclosed amount in its Series A funding from East Ventures. The firm is planning to put the fresh fund towards improving its product assortment, online shopping system, investing in human resources and add value to its services.  

Initially, Otten Coffee started as an actual offline store in 2012 by Robin Boe and Jhoni Kusno in Medan, which is located at the northern end of Sumatra, a region known for the production of outstanding coffee beans. Considering the opportunity, the startup turned as a specialist in coffee related products. In 2014, Otten expanded its business towards e-Commerce space in order to ship products all around Indonesia.

The one-stop coffee shop offers best possible espresso machines, grinders, and specialized tools for coffee lovers which are needed for coffee production. It is expected to boost its position extensively in the Indonesian coffee market.

Robin, Co-Founder of Otten Coffee stated that “Around 125 million people depend on coffee for their livelihoods. People are willing to explore more on coffee making techniques, which is not easy as it requires knowledge on a variety of tools and equipments. The Coffee industry in Indonesia turned as a lucrative business”.
