Bangalore: Hyderabad based weight loss and fitness startup Truweight raises an undisclosed amount in its Series A funding from Kalaari Capital. The round of funding was also participated by Rajesh Raju and Mandar Dandekar – Board members of Kalaari. The fund will be utilized to construct a technology team and upgrade a mobile app in order to provide an inclusive solution for weight loss and fitness. The fund will also be utilized to hire talent and upgrade company's food products, while also focusing on expanding physical diet centres in Bengaluru and Chennai.
Incorporated in 2013 by Vishnu Saraf and Megha More, Truweight provides weight loss counseling to its clients online and at the weight loss centers. Focusing on healthy products, the firm offers about 30 food products that are made with over 25 Super Foods including spirulina, barley grass, alfaalfa grass, acacia gum, herbs, foxtail millet and many more.
Today, Truweight claims to have over 7,000 users and has an average monthly income of Rs.50 lakh. The firm is currently planning to spread across India over the next 12 months.
