Home Service Provider Zimmber Grabs $2 Million in its Pre-Series A Funding

Bengaluru: Zimmber, a Mumbai headquartered online platform that offers home services, raises $2 million in pre-Series A funding round led by IDG Ventures India, Omidyar Network, Sherpalo Ventures and Mohandas Pai. The raised funds will be backing the company’s plans of adding more service professionals to its portal, developing its technology platform and extending its business operations to Tier I, II and III cities. Prior to this, Zimmber had raised $400,000 from angel investors and another undisclosed amount from Praveen Sinha, the India Head of Jabong, in June and January this year respectively.

Anubha Goel – former Tata Motors employee – Gaurav Shrivastava and Amit Kumar, former Project Manager at Larsen & Toubro Limited, established Zimmber in 2014. With services that own a right combination of commitment and standardized pricing, the online platform proffers quality household services to the users according to their need. The service professionals listed on their portal are thoroughly checked for their authenticity, who later are categorized according to their profession. These categories include electrical repairs, AC installation, plumbing and many other services.

To avail these services, the user has to go through the list of services on company website or mobile app and select the service which they are in need of. After this, the company contacts the user and fixes a time according to the user’s convenience and sends a service professional to his home/ office.
Currently, the company offers its services in Gurgaon, Mumbai and Pune and claims to have enrolled over 400 trained service professionals on its portal. It has a workforce of 70 employees and is planning to increase its staff count.
