Bengaluru: Gurgaon-based budget hotels chain WudStay, forays into Varanasi, Goa, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Dehradun and Pune as it acquires its competitor offline budget hotels chain - Awesome Stays in an all cash-and-stock deal. However, the financial terms of the deal still remains undisclosed. Post this deal, Deepak Sharma (CEO, Awesome Stays) will join WudStay Board.
Founded in 2014 by Sharma Singh and Pankaj Singh, Awesome Stays (owned and operated by Awesome Stays Pvt. Ltd.) is a branded budget hotels chain that proffers hotel bookings at various locations at a very reasonable price. The company allows the users to book the hotels over phone and claims to fulfill over 6,000 orders each month.
Owned and operated by WudStay Travel Pvt. Ltd., WudStay is the brainchild of Prafulla Mathur, an entrepreneur. WudStay provides standardized and branded rooms to corporate and leisure travelers at a discounted price. It offers the customers a quality service experience by offering complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, cable TV and hygienic washrooms. The company also claims to have tie-ups with small individual hotels in Gurgaon and Jaipur whose rooms are available for booking on the company’s website within the price range of Rs.999-1299.
