Bangalore: Gurgaon based hyper local delivery startup Grofers acquires New Delhi based grocery delivery platform – Mygreenbox-for an undisclosed amount. The hyper local grocery service, Grofers is backed by Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global.
Incorporated in 2014 by Varun Khurana, Mygreenbox is operated by Mygreenbox Retail Pvt. Ltd. Since inception, the company provides a smartphone app that offers the buyer a simpler way of ordering fresh items to be delivered at their doorstep. It offers a range of products from the best brands in Groceries, Snacks, Packed food, Beverages, Personal Care and Household products. Mygreenbox currently processes on average of 200 orders every day.
Founded in 2013 by Saurabh Kumar and Albinder Dhindsa, Grofer offers delivery services operated by Locodel Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Today, the company has more than 200 field boys who make the delivery via the Grofers Tracker application. The company processes over 30,000 deliveries every month with over 6,000 orders. It manages a total of 5 lakh SKU’s (Stock Keeping Unit) and completes the delivery within 90 minutes.
Grofers has recently raised $10 million in funding led by Tiger Global along with its existing investors Sequoia Capital India. The company is valued at $33million and claims to process over 700 customer orders a day across Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Recently, the company has expanded its operations in Bangalore.
