This new facility will empower the users to pay their electricity bills within few clicks, cutting out the pain of standing in long queues to pay their bills. The company also allows a wide range of payment options such as credit cards, debit cards, internet banking or ATM/cash card and is planning to add more e-payment facilities to its portal.

As a part of this new offering, the company has associated with eight major electricity boards, covering almost all major metros in India and is planning to increase this number to 30 in the next four weeks. Consumers across various districts can pay their electricity bill using their customer account number. For the first time users, the website automatically fetches their due bills instantly, allowing them to register and pay their bills automatically. Whenever the next bill is generated, a reminder is sent to the users.
Freecharge will also provide an instant confirmation of bill payment and follow up with the biller, ensuring that the payment process is effortless and hassle-free. The company is PCI DSS compliant and the payments made through the platform are 100 percent secure.
