Bangalore: Holachef, a Mumbai based food technology startup raises $3.1 million in Series A round of funding from Kalaari Capital. The existing investors India Quotient also participated in the round. The company will utilize the funds to expand their infrastructure which will enable better preparation and delivery of the food. Earlier in February this year, it had also raised a seed funding of Rs.2 crore from India Quotient.
Founded in 2014 by Saurabh Saxena, Anil Gelra and Ritu Rana, Holachef curates Chefs ranging from Executive Chefs to Amateurs, and proffers creative freedom to shine through their signature dishes. The company manages the logistics of the food (packaging, storage & delivery). Each day, Holachef lists upto 50 options for lunch and dinner respectively along with some snacks. It offers starters, meals, desserts and soft drinks; catering to vegetarian and non-vegetarian customers. It provides a wide range of cuisines greater than any restaurant can ever provide like Kashmiri, Manglorean, Maharashtrian, Rajasthani, Gujarati, Continental, Mexican, American, Fusion, Desserts and Italian. Holachef serves a good mix of dishes on a daily basis and delivers the food in a one-person meal format.
Holachef claims to serve over 1000 orders every day across locations in Central and Western suburbs of Mumbai. The meals are priced at an average of Rs.120-350. It receives over 65 percent of orders through their mobile app on Android, iOS and rest from the desktop website.
