Drone Startup Sky-Futures Raises $3.8 Million from MMC Ventures

Bangalore: London based drone inspection services for the oil and gas industry, Sky-Futures raises $3.8 million in its Series A round of funding from MMC Ventures. The new investment will be utilized in building the incorporated technology inspection platform. However, the funding is believed to be Europe’s biggest drone investment fund till today.

Incorporated in 2009 by James Harrison, Chris Blackford and Nick Rogers, Sky-Futures is the world's leading oil and gas drone scrutiny specialist. Since inception, the company drones collect high definition stills, video and thermal imagery data examined in a proprietary data platform, which are later delivered to the client as a technical report.
 
Headquartered in London with offices in Texas, Houston, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Gulf of Mexico and Aberdeen in Scotland, Sky-Futures hosts over 30 clients globally and works in over 10 countries across five regions of the world. The company claims to have more than 8,500 hours of aviation experience, providing live flare, structural and under deck inspections on-shore and off-shore.
