Bangalore: Bangalore-based online furnishing solutions provider, CapriCoast.com raises $1.25 million in a seed funding round led by U.S. based early stage investor, Accel Partners. The firm will utilize the fund to expand in all the 6 metros in India by the end of 2015.
Founded in 2014 by Jawad Ayaz along with Vinod Chandran, CapriCoast Home Solutions Private Limited is an online modular furnishing store. Since inception, the company connects the customers, the manufacturer and suppliers with 1000’s of pre-designed kitchens and wardrobes.
Today, its online 3D catalog provides India’s widest series of models to suit any design inclination with a wide price range. The company offers from internationally inspired designs to Snap-fit kitchens. It also offers easy-to-use online customization and support to the design team that allows unlimited design iterations until the customer needs.
Jawad Ayaz also runs online furniture seller Zansaar hence, Zansaar and CapriCoast will use each other’s platforms to boost their user base. The online furniture supplier Zansaar is also funded by Accel Partner.
On the other side, Accel focuses on big data, Internet, mobile and healthcare startups. It has a portfolio that includes Facebook, Drop box, Spotify, Kayak, Cloudera, Etsy, Flipkart, Myntra, Bookmyshow and many others. The company has over $9.6 Billion assets under management today and has invested in more than 17 startups at the seed funding stage from its $150 million plus Accel III fund in India.
