Bengaluru: The semiconductor space in India witnessed the biggest acquisition ever as the U.S. based product engineering company Aricent Inc. acquired SmartPlay – a Bengaluru-based semiconductor solutions provider – for $180 million. Through this acquisition, Aricent plans to enhance its R&D facility for embosses software. This is Aricent’s fifth acquisition and the biggest acquisition in the industry. As a part of this deal, Pradeep Vajram, Co-Founder & CEO, SmartPlay will join as the president of Aricent’s semiconductor business unit and report to Frank Kern.
